These terms and conditions govern stay requests and bookings with AMANBLU. They must be read before any confirmation, together with the Cancellation policy, which forms an integral part of it.
Who we are
AMANBLU is operated by ARGANA BEACH SARL, a company incorporated under Moroccan law with its registered office at KM 26, forêt domaniale Aïn Tamoulkt, Tamri, Imi Ouaddar, registered in the Trade Register of Agadir under number 35881.
Booking a stay with us constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Book
Your booking is confirmed as soon as the deposit has been cleared and you have received our confirmation by email.
The deposit is 50 % of the total price. On the festive window, from 17 December to 4 January, it is non-refundable.
Why 50 %. This is more than standard practice, and it is deliberate. We do not keep your card details: if a late cancellation left a balance for us to cover, we would have to ask you for it, and chasing payment is never quick. We prefer to refund you what is owed rather than have to ask you for what is still due to us. A refund goes out the same day.
You can pay in euros or dirhams. The exchange rate is fixed on the day of your booking, and this same rate applies to your balance as well as to any refund. Therefore, a change in the exchange rate between your booking and your cancellation will not alter what you have paid or what is refunded to you.
The balance is due no later than 30 days before your arrival. If you book within 30 days, the full amount is due upon booking.
If the balance is not paid by the due date, we are following up with you by email. Without payment within five days of this reminder, the reservation will be cancelled and the cancellation scale will apply, as for a cancellation on your part. We prefer to tell you now rather than at that time.
The confirmed price is fixed
The price shown on your confirmation is fixed. We do not revise it for currency fluctuations, increases in our costs, or tax changes occurring after your booking. What you have confirmed is what you pay.
The only caveat concerns manifest error. We verify the prices and descriptions published on the website and in the booking engine, but an error remains possible. Until your booking is confirmed, we may correct an inaccurate price or description: we will notify you, and you are then free to confirm at the corrected price or cancel without any charge. Following confirmation, the price is firm.
Travel insurance is compulsory
Travel insurance is a conditions of your booking. It must cover, as a minimum, cancellation costs, medical expenses and repatriation, and — if you are taking part in water sports — surfing. Check that your policy covers your pre-existing medical conditions and board sports: many policies exclude them by default.
We may ask you for your policy reference details before arrival. If you travel without insurance, or with insurance that does not provide the required level of cover, we accept no responsibility for any loss that this insurance would have covered.
If you cancel
Any cancellation must be notified to us in writing at contact@amanblu.com. It takes effect on the day we receive it.
| Cancellation received | We'll keep that in mind | We are returning to you |
|---|---|---|
| More than 30 days before arrival | 30 % of the total price | the remaining 20 % of the deposit |
| From 30 to 14 days before | 50 % of the total price | the rest, being 50 % of the total price |
| Less than 14 days before | 100 % | nothing |
Festive window, from 17th December to 4th January: The 50 % deposit is non-refundable. If you cancel before the final balance is due, we keep it and ask for nothing more. Once the balance has been paid, the entire price is non-refundable.
With less than 14 days to go before arrival, the full amount remains due: we only have seven bungalows, and a bungalow freed up at such short notice cannot be re-let.
A booking made on a reservation platform, such as Booking.com, follows the cancellation conditions displayed by that platform at the time of booking.
Minimum stays
Four nights, whatever the package. Five nights over the festive window, from 17 December to 4 January.
Privatisation of the estate for short stays requires a minimum of three nights: this is a flat rate for the entire estate, not an individual booking.
Who can stay
The area is reserved for people of sixteen and over. We do not accommodate children – either in the bungalows, in the restaurant, or around the pool. The peace and quiet of the place is part of our service, and we prefer to state this at the time of booking rather than upon arrival.
The booking must be made by an adult, who is responsible for the persons they register.
Animals are not permitted on the property.
The people you register
When booking for other people, you confirm that you are authorised to provide us with their information, including their dietary requirements, allergies and health details required for surfing. You undertake to forward these conditions and our Privacy policy.
You also agree to be our contact person for the booking and to assume payment for all registered participants.
We never share a bungalow with strangers
We never place two travellers who do not know each other in the same bungalow. Sharing is a choice, between people who book together.
Each of our seven bungalows can be configured as a double bed or twin beds, depending on your choice at the time of booking.
Special requests, allergies and dietary requirements
Please inform us at the time of booking of any allergies, intolerances or dietary requirements, as well as any special requests. We will pass these on to our head chef and teams, and do our utmost to accommodate them.
We cannot guarantee them, however. A request noted on your confirmation means it has been passed on, not that it has been granted, and we do not accept a booking whose confirmation would depend on a specific request. If a particular element is crucial to you, let's discuss it before you book.
Blue Salt's kitchen is not an allergen-free environment. We handle nuts, peanuts, gluten, eggs, fish, crustaceans, molluscs, soya, sesame and dairy products daily in a single kitchen. We cannot rule out cross-contamination. Anyone whose allergy puts them at risk of a severe reaction should take this into account and travel with their medication.
Change your dates
Once per booking, more than 30 days before arrival, subject to availability. The rate for the new dates applies.
Transfer your reservation to someone else
If you are unable to attend, you can transfer your booking to another person, provided they meet the conditions of the stay, that you notify us in writing at least seven days before arrival, and that the balance has been paid.
Transfer fees of [AMOUNT TO BE DECIDED BY AMINE] apply. You and your replacement remain jointly and severally liable for the payment of the booking, and that person accepts these terms and conditions.
If there are two of you and one cancels
The booking is for a bungalow. If one of the two guests cancels, the bungalow remains booked: the remaining guest will stay there alone, and the private bungalow supplement will apply for the nights in question.
The portion of the trip for the traveller who cancels is subject to the cancellation scale.
If you do not come, or if you leave early
A no-show without notification of cancellation will be charged in full.
An early departure, for whatever reason, does not entitle the guest to any refund or credit note.
Arriving and leaving
Check-in is from 15:00. Check-out is before 11:00. Late arrival or a delayed departure are possible subject to availability and may incur a charge.
A valid identity document — national identity card or passport — is required upon arrival, as Moroccan regulations impose on all tourist accommodation establishments.
Your papers and formalities
Valid passport or identity card, visa if your nationality requires it, health formalities: verification is your responsibility, and requirements change. Check with the relevant embassy or consulate in good time.
We can only provide general information on these subjects. A trip that a missing formality prevents you from starting does not entitle you to any refund.
If your flight is delayed
Your transfer is scheduled according to the flight time you provide. Please notify us as soon as you are aware of any delay or change: we will rearrange the transfer whenever possible.
A missed transfer because of a failure to notify you can be re-billed to you. A late arrival does not change either the price or the duration of your stay.
Supervised activities
We supervise three activities: surfing, yoga and Moroccan cooking classes.
Surfing involves inherent risks. You declare to us that you are in a sufficient physical condition and you must inform us, prior to the first session, of any medical condition, injury, pregnancy or treatment likely to affect your participation.
We may ask you to provide a medical certificate confirming that you are fit to surf. If this information has not been provided, or if we consider that we cannot safely accommodate you in the water, we may refuse to allow you to take part in the sessions, or cancel your booking in accordance with our cancellation policy. We will let you know as soon as possible.
Surfing is for people who can swim. The instructor's instructions apply at all times. We may refuse or interrupt a session — sea conditions, weather, behaviour — without this giving rise to any right to a refund.
The cookery class takes place in a professional kitchen, under the guidance of our chef, and their instructions apply equally.
The swimming pool is not lifeguarded. You swim there at your own risk.
The surfing equipment
The board and wetsuit are entrusted to you in good condition, and you return them in good condition. Normal wear and tear is on us, not breakage.
| That’s a shame | Amount |
|---|---|
| Repairing a board | 300 DH minimum, according to the repairer's estimate |
| Lost or damaged wetsuit | 900 MAD |
| Structural breakage, bend or crack permanently weakening the board | Replacement, at the purchase price of the board |
Before your first session, we ask you to sign a discharge, which covers both the inherent risks of surfing and the use of the equipment lent to you. It is given to you upon arrival and reiterates the rules above.
If you injure yourself during your stay
If an injury prevents you from surfing, the remaining sessions are not lost: they are converted into yoga sessions, or into a credit that can be used on-site during your stay. The stay itself is non-refundable.
If the ocean does not allow it
Water sports depend on the swell, the wind and the tide. We are the sole judges of our clients' safety and may postpone or cancel a session.
A session cancelled on our part will be added to the duration of your stay, or replaced by a service of equivalent value.
If we have to change something
Our seven bungalows are identical: same size, same facilities, same view, and each can be configured as a double bed or twin beds. Allocating you a different bungalow to the one planned therefore changes nothing about your stay, and does not constitute a change to our commitments.
A modification is important when it affects your dates, the duration of your stay, or the supervised activity you have booked for the entire stay. In this case, you choose: to accept the modification, an equivalent or superior service at no extra cost, or a full refund within 14 days. Tell us your choice within seven days of our message.
If we cancel
If we are unable to ensure your stay, you can choose between: postponement under the same conditions, an equivalent or superior service at no extra cost, or a full refund within 14 days.
On the estate
The estate accommodates a maximum of fourteen people.
Quiet is an essential part of the service: silence is requested between 23:00 and 08:00. Smoking is not permitted inside the bungalows or in enclosed spaces. Outside visitors are not allowed in the bungalows without prior agreement. No alcohol is sold or served on the property.
You are responsible for any damage you cause to the bungalows, furniture, surfing equipment and communal areas.
We can terminate a stay, without a refund, in the event of behaviour that endangers safety, disturbs the peace and quiet of other guests or staff, or contravenes Moroccan law.
Groups and professionals
Any reservation for four or more bungalows, as well as any booking by a tourism professional, is subject to a separate contract: a 50 % deposit upon signing, the balance due 60 days prior, and free cancellation up to 90 days before arrival only.
What is not understood
The tourist tax, at 15 MAD per person per night, and the tourism promotion tax, payable on site at the statutory rate in force. Transfers, unless otherwise stated. Any insurance.
If an external event prevents the stay
We shall not be held liable for the non-performance of our obligations in the event of force majeure — natural disaster, epidemic, administrative decision, airport closure, conflict, or prolonged disruption of networks.
In this case, we offer you a postponement or a credit note, the validity period of which we are specifying.
Our responsibility
We shall be liable for damages directly attributable to us, within the limits provided for by Moroccan law.
Our obligations regarding the belongings you bring onto the property are those imposed by Moroccan law on tourist accommodation establishments. A safe is provided in each bungalow.
We accept no liability for damage resulting from failure to follow the safety instructions given to you, nor for any loss that would have been covered by the travel insurance required at the time of booking.
Your data
The data you entrust to us is processed in accordance with Moroccan Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and, where applicable, the General Data Protection Regulation.
The data controller is ARGANA BEACH SARL. Details of the processing operations, recipients, retention periods and your rights can be found in our Privacy policy.
A complaint
Report any issues to us on site so that we can address them immediately. Then confirm them in writing to contact@amanblu.com within thirty days of your departure.
Applicable law
These conditions are subject to Moroccan law. In the absence of an amicable settlement, the courts of Agadir shall have jurisdiction.
These conditions are provisional. They will be replaced by our General Conditions of Sale as soon as they are published. Bookings confirmed under these conditions will remain governed by them.
